Southwest LUVs the 737 MAX
Southwest Airlines is well-known for loving its customers. The airline began service out of Love Field in Dallas, and even uses “LUV” as its ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange. The Southwest formula for success is simple: schedule reliability, the lowest possible fares, and an enjoyable flight experience. The world’s largest fleet of 737s is an essential ingredient in this formula. Southwest has now taken a decisive step to extend its success by becoming the launch customer for the 737 MAX. The airline recently finalized an order for 150 of the new airplanes, and an additional 58 Next-Generation 737s. Boeing is definitely feeling the love—the firm order is the largest in company history.
