WestJet finds 100 ways to show it cares

Calgary-based WestJet has a simple philosophy: “Owners care.” This motto reflects the airline’s share purchase and profit sharing plans, which make nearly 9,000 WestJet employees proud owners of the airline. Their pride of ownership is reflected in many major customer service and corporate culture awards over the past several years.

This pride of ownership is also reflected in the WestJet fleet. The airline recently celebrated the 100th Next-Generation 737 to join its fleet — the only kind of airplane WestJet flies. By choosing the most fuel-efficient and reliable single-aisle airplane today, WestJet aspires to become one of the five most successful international airlines in the world by 2016. And it now has 100 reasons for believing it will succeed.
